Full Day Safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Early in the morning, you will be collected from your hotel in Arusha and driven to Tarangire National Park, a journey of approximately 2–3 hours. This region was once a favorite big game hunting area for Ernest Hemingway before becoming a national park in 1970.
Tarangire is famous for having the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania, with herds often reaching up to 300 animals. The Tarangire River flows year-round and attracts large numbers of wildlife, especially during the dry season (July–October).
During the game drive, you may encounter lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, gazelles, and with luck, even a python. The park is also a paradise for bird watchers, boasting over 550 bird species including the Masai ostrich, the world’s largest bird.
After a picnic lunch inside the park, the afternoon is dedicated to further wildlife viewing before returning to Arusha before sunset.
