Kilimanjaro National Park
Covering an area of 756 sq km, Kilimanjaro National Park is a park of the mountain. By name, this park is a metaphor for the compelling beauty of East Africa.
Being established in 1973, the park initially comprised the whole of the mountain above the tree line and six forest passageways spreading down through the montane forest belts. Kilimanjaro National Park is a beacon for visitors, as it is one of the most accessible high summits of Tanzania.
Beyond the climbing experience, Kilimanjaro offers an adventure to explore a number of distinct climate zones as it starts from the tropical savannah all the way up to the icy Arctic of its peak. The Park is privileged under national legislation as a National Park.
